5 Best Movies in Theater

Funny Games

[youtube=http://youtube.com/watch?v=Ec-70W_K77U]

Thriller that features two cunning killers who torture a family.

Doomsday

[youtube=http://youtube.com/watch?v=feELmdZUrTs]

Yes, it’s a Mad Max ripoff but it features my girl crust Rhona Mitra (Nip/Tuck, The Practice) so I’ll watch.

There Will Be Blood

[youtube=http://youtube.com/watch?v=ml2Ae2SIXac]

This movie should have won best picture. A crazy ride through a man who sells his soul until there is nothing left.

Persepolis

[youtube=http://youtube.com/watch?v=3PXHeKuBzPY]

Stark and amazing animated film about growing up under the Iranian Revolution.

Cloverfield

[youtube=http://youtube.com/watch?v=hfXUqXg7LHE]

This will be out of theaters soon, so catch it on the big screen. This genre busting monster movie got bashed for being too confusing and not featuring a happy ending. That’s the point. This movie is shot from the ground as average Joe’s deal with the end of the world.

Best Bets on DVD

Dan in Real Life

[youtube=http://youtube.com/watch?v=8SqaWEBSd4g]

Cute movie about the randomness of love. I hate chick flicks, but I loved this charming little movie.

No County For Old Men

[youtube=http://youtube.com/watch?v=2WqpMp4cQnQ]

The movie that DID win the Oscar for Best Picture. A gritty face off between good and evil in a small town.

Hitman

[youtube=http://youtube.com/watch?v=sjjIlTG-rKE]

Action Movie that knows what it is. No real plot, lots of cool set pieces and fight scenes.

Sleuth

[youtube=http://youtube.com/watch?v=eDrdGPhs7vg]

This cat and mouse game pits a man against his wife’s new lover. The original is better, but the new one features cutie Jude Law.

    I have visited this site on many an occasion now but this post is the 1st one that I have ever commented on.

    Congratulations on such a fine article and site I have found it very helpful and informative - I only wish that there were more out there like this one.

    I never leave empty handed, sometimes I may even be a little disappointed that I may not agree with a post or reply that has been made. But hey! that is life and if every one agreed on the same thing what a boring old world we would live in.

    Keep up the good work and cheers.
